car shut of!!
wats up fellow dsmers i need some serious help. sat night i was at the local spot and we all left to watch some hondas do some highway pulls. the did some runs and i was in the middle but i didnt run anybody cause of a little clutch slippage, now they took off and my car turned off on the highway. i pulled over and tried to push start it but it didnt work. when i tried to start it everything lit up the lights was bright and everything but it wouldnt crank. now the belts turned but it wouldnt crank. my girls car did the same thing and a mechanic did a test and the car fired up, then cut off. he told her it was her fuel pump, could that be what it is? please help cause i miss driving my baby

To check if its your pump, you can try giving the gas tank a few hits or kicks. That will hopefully get the fuel pump free and flowing again if it is failing. Crank it over after giving it a few hits and it should start. If that is it, it still will need to be replaced.

Crank the car over and then when you stop listed to hear if the fuel pump is making a whining noise. If it is then its still pumping. Also try spraying some injector cleaner into the intake and try to start it. If that works and then it cuts off you are not getting fuel.

Check for fuel and spark.
when my fuel pump went out, my dad's buddy came and brought a little hammer and while I was trying to start the car her got under the car and hit the tank twice pretty hefty and the car started.
The other thing to check is of your car has any spark. check the plugs for sprk using an extra plug. just pull off the wire and plug in a new plug and turn the car over and see if there is spark. try all 4. if none have spark, time to start working backwards from there.

maybe its your CPS (crank positioning sensor)....
My car pretty much did the exact same thing... I was driving to my buddies house to pick him up, as I was turning into his long driveway, I threw it into neutral so I would just roll up to him... I had my music at a moderate level, but not loud, So I didnt notice anything strange... As I came to a hault, I turned my music off and my car was already off, like as if it was stalled. I tried starting it... nothing... wouldnt turn over at all, the engine would crank like a champ as if it was going to start but nothing after... All my accesories would work fine, etc. I was baffled until we ran the ODB and saw the code...
-if not that, maybe the CAS (cam angle sensor)....
Hopefully it is what someone mentioned earlier or this.... good luck
edit:
p.s your missing a 'f' in your title... Might help more if title is spelt correctly, even though its pretty self explanatory.... lol... :P

Wait....You said the car didnt crank...Then you said that the belts moved but it didnt crank??
Assuming it DOES crank since the belts moves and it just doesnt start, check fuel and spark, also check the CAS plug. If the CAS plug pops off or the CAS died, you will lack fuel to the cylinders because the injectors wont fire and the car will not start. But 1st check for fuel pressure and spark
