profile is current for mods.

problem started after i ran open downpipe for a few days then i boost leak tested and washed the motor.. from then on its lacking power big time.

i swapped in another maf because i was sure that was the problem. nope.
its getting boost to the mani. but its slow spooling and no power.

looked at the knock sensor, looked fine, no goo.

no boost leaks.

boost gauge is tapped to the fuel pressure line, mbc is directly between the j pipe and wastegate. bov is to the manifold.

i zeroed out my safc2 today logged it, adjusted the afc some, now i have 0 knock and good timing, 17-20 degrees. but no power! BUT for it to have 0 knock at 18psi i had to richen it 35%! 35%! that cant be right. stock injectors with just a pump and afpr. fuel pressure btw is factory setting.

it pulls good vacuum at idle, about 18inches, 20inches when it idles high... it does have idle problems. there is no iac. i think i just need to add coolant, probably some air in the system.

someone shed some light on me. or help me burn this thing;)

fouled plugs?, bad plug wire?, coil pack?, sounds like your having an ignition problem... Do a compression test

So is the car missing at all, or is it only under high rpm you lose power? have you checked to see if the blow off valve is stuck open?

I had something similar happen to me and it turned out to be a bad injector. It is possible that when you washed your engine you got it wet. I had to turn everything way up because my wideband was reading super lean. My car boosted ok(was pretty slow spool) and had no power at 15 pounds.

I would be really careful with setting your AFC at that level because if it is an injector you are running so rich you could f*** your piston rings up bad. You will also have so much gas in your oil that you could wash out an engine bearing. Proceed with caution and check your oil for a gassy smell. If it smells like gas I am probably rite.

Good luck, Greg

ok ok good ideas.

no miss at all just slow spool and lack of power.. there is still some power.. feels like a honda haha.

the bov is not stuck open, checked that.

i have a cover over my plugs and wires but i will check them on my lunch.

how can i test for a bad injector? listen for the tick with a stethoscope?

for the injectors, if you have a multi meter you can pull the conectors off and check the ohms on them. Not sure what spec is for DSM injectors but if one is bad it will be a crazy number compared to the other ones.

If you have a logger, you can disable them one at a time. If you hear no change in the way the engine sounds, then you have found your culprit. If you here a bit of a stutter or miss then that injector is good.

crazy, i had a feeling i should bring my multimeter home from work haha good call by me LOL ill check the ohms.

im using mmcd... i dont think i can disable injectors with that can i? i couldnt even find where to pull codes with mmcd, just no money to get a good logger at the moment.

ill be back in like 20.

put on ## regular down pipe, see if that helps, it could be ## knock sensor picking up the exhaust noise, causing ## ecu to pull timing, it happened to me when i ran an open down pipe.

im not logging any knock tho. i had like 40ish counts when i zeroed out my afc, now i have 0 knock.

i just checked my injectors, they were all good. all 2.8 ohms.

i pulled my plugs.. and they look lean. they were kinda white and crispy. also one of gaps was almost closed. so i gapped them all now im gonna drive down to kraigen or somethin and get some new plugs.

i decided to pull my codes first... autozone tomorrow since i dont work tomorrow.

im pulling an IAT sensor code... looks like i need a maf.

Yeah you can. Go to the opening page and click on the top left menu and then click test. You should be on the CEL check screen and on the bottom it has the injector part. Just touch one number at a time and there you go.
