can anybody tell me what the highlighted things are.

ive seen alot of dsm's without the cruise control box, and i think it looks alot cleaner, so is it a good idea to get rid of it or is it possible to just relocate it?

Best thing to do is find a non cruise throttle cable. That way you can delete all cruise control stuff. A good place to look is at junkyards. I was able to find mine off a Galant.

You can get rid of the cruise control just get you a throttle cable off a car that doesnt have cruise. Or i used 1 off a non turbo car on my buddies but only because his car caught fire and frooze teh throttle cable in one of the cruise cables, and his was a 2g and used a 2g non turbo cable so i figure yours may be the same. You will just llose your cruise if you remove it. I like using mine so i kept it.

Which will you be doing more of, looking at how pretty the engine is, or driving two or three states' worth on an Interstate?
It tends to work out best if you have a car set up for how you're going to use it. Only you can say.

Last week I took the Talon on a 1500 mile road trip including 15 hours interstate cruising. With the stroker conversion the Talon's cruising sweet spot has moved up into the ticket range.

I think of the cruise control as a money saving gadget.

well its pretty much a city driver and probably wont drive it out of state, so idk i just like the clean look.
