so ....my ac belt snapped ,my alternator went, spent close to $300 and put everything together :thumb: then i found out i blew my alt. fuse when i went to start it, fixed that and then.... the alternator belt slip off, at first i thought i didn't tighten it enough, put it back on and ones again it came off again, check everything and it kept on doing it so i let it run for a min. and looked around the i found the problem WTF my crank pulley was shifting as it trend and that was causing the belt to come of:cry:, the plastic piece striped and is causing it to move. so now i have to buy a new one. :beatentodeath: i found one on ebay for 40 plus hipping but i wana make sure that i get the right one i need my car its my daily drive and only car, this happen to anyone before? and if so got any good info for me? thanks:talon:

Make sure it has the "plastic" (it's actually rubber) that is sandwiched in the middle. It is a harmonic balancer and will protect your crank. The crank pulley going bad is a basic maintenence issue. Nothing catastrophic.

Don't ever use one of those single piece metal alloy pullies.

were can i find one with the rubber pice ones, ### the one i was looking on ebay was one of the one pice alloy ones and thanks i didnt know what it was, now can i drive like a mile without the alternator or belt, i cant do the work were i live so i have to bring it to my job, my boss will let me work on it there ??:talon:

For sure do not get a single piecce pulley are engines are very delicate and need a dampend pulley, If you dont want to spend alot of money try finding one at a junkyard or ordering one off a trader site or maybe the classifieds. People also say that the replacement ones that are dampend on ebay also suck so be careful and stick to oem.

No waterpump, no alternator, no power steering. Whether you make it or not largely depends on the conditiion of your battery. However, prepare to be stuck on the road along with severe overheating issues.

Worst case scenario: no power steering makes you lose control and crash, along with overheating which warps the head and blows headgasket. Even if you could have limped to your destination, you are still stuck due to battery being drained.

Get a tow, or just borrow the tools and do them at your own place.

i have the tools but if i doit were i live ill get thrown out and my girl will kill me a blow my car up if that happens, i guess im ganna have to tow her, ... did i mention i love my car:beatentodeath: but for my first dsm and $3950 i guess i should start an account only for my car:)
