I have a maft pro and when i first start the car i have a tps signal saying .51 at idle but once it gets warm i lose the signal and once you rev then let off the gas the car dies. i have replaced the conector for the tps and ive checked the wiring for the maft but i cant figure out the problem. i do have a check engine light but im not sure if its because of all the emissions deletes or not.
please help.

It's possible the TPS is bad. Also note that the O2 sensor can cause the TPS to send bad codes so if you have some terrible emissions that could do it.

i switched the tps out of my 93 and it made no difference. the o2 isnt dead ### my maft is geting a reading. but that doesnt mean its good. any other idea?

no i didnt reset the codes. i get a code when it gets up to temp then bam i lose the tps signal. my o2 is reading 1.60 with an a/f of 14.5 at idle. doesnt make sense. is it possible to wire the coolant temp sensor backwords. i got the car in pieces and it had spade connectors on it. i need to get it running perfect. im trying to break my best time. this is bothering me. its luckly not my dd. thank god for the 1.8l its a tank.

Well, as soon as it gets to the specific temp that then tells the TPS to lower the idle down. If you're getting a code as soon as it's suppose to tell the idle to drop then its still possible the TPS is still bad, or maybe you have a bad connection.

this is an old thread but i got the problem fixed. it ended up being a bad tps. it would work then quit.
