Ok i have a stock 90 gst the only mods. i have are 2.5" intercooler piping with stock BOV, and a 3" intake pipe. when i installed that my boost droped to steady solid 8psi??? so. i checked over all my clamps and vacum lines, seems to be perfect. i didnt do a vacum/boost test yet, but if thats ok What could be the reason. I bought a MBC from slowboy and was planning to just turn it back up to stock, 10psi if thats what stock is? Couple of questions.

-What is stock boost on a stock 14b 1g?(10psi)

-Can i turn up the boost without any mods.(bov, wastegate, fuel pump ect.)

-Do i leave the stock boost controller electrically plugged in after i put on the MBC?

I really dont want to go more than 12-14psi
any help ?

Yes check the tech sections upgrade path 10-15.

Yes and no, its the only way the ecu can help save the motor by cutting boost if there is a problem.

What type/grade of gas do you use? how is your mbc taped and bov, etc taped?

re-route the line for the stock bcs back into itself and get rid of all other vacuum line and tee fittings for boost control....run vacuum hose from boost pressure source nipple on upper intercooler pipe to respective side of mbc more vacuum hose from other side of mbc to wastegate actuator....run car... look at boost....stop....adjust mbc....repeat until desired effect is acheived

whoops you got to it first silver bullit

So the stock bov does not need to be tapped? and after looping, and re routing the vacuuum lines.. the fuel pump will not handle any more than stock boost and probably didnt handle the intercooling piping i put on, due to the massive size and flow differance?

no I didnt do into anything but what I described and everything works great. Your stock pump can handle around 15psi with a rewire kit and stock turbo (especially if its the 13b/t25....but this also includes the 14b)....intercooler piping wont have THAT big of an effect. I have a bushur uicp with stock licp, hard intake pipe with rewired pump and a mbc that I have set to hit 17psi during my tallest gear so its running 15-16 during the lower gears after spike. Car runs magnifico....but if your using the stock boost gauge for all this then quit while your ahead as that thing does not read actual boost pressure but is more of a airflow meter LOL...if you do have a REAL boost gauge and your boost did drop after the intercooler piping install then I would do a almighty boost leak test because you probably have a leak somewhere that you cannot see.
