stock fuel level gauge in fuel cell?

Im putting a 16 or so gallon fuel cell in the trunk of my 90 GSX, and was wondering if it is at all possible to use the stock fuel level gauge, if anyone has done it before, pointers/ tips, so on and so forth. thanks.

Why are you getting a fuel cell if it is that large?

im putting it in to make room on the underside of the vehicle, not so much for the sake of having a tiny fuel tank, its not a full blown track only car at this point, and at 4mpg id like not to have to fill up at every stop light.

4mpg sucks man. Your profile has no mods listed in it. What do you have into the car? TO answer your question about the stock sending unit. Yes you can use it in a fuel cell if it is made for it or modified to do so. Look at this.

im also not sure on the exact size just yet most likely between 10 and 16 gallons, i just want to know how difficult it would be to make the stock fuel guage work with the fuel cell setup.

You just have to make sure the stock sending unit will mount into the fuel cell. If the fuel cell is going to be in the trunk you will not be able to use the stock fuel lines. I am not sure if there is another way to get the fuel level reading besides using the stock sending unit.

to answer your question, its setup as a scca car, alot of mods, alot of beat ass problems, more beat ass problems, 35lbs of boost - when it wants to. will be nice when its all done, ill post mods and dynos etc.

wow, brain fart, doesnt the pump sit inside the level sending unit,? i just did a walbro 255 in my friends tsi TODAY, yea im beat.
