Ok so i have this issue which i think is in the fuel system somewhere. I replaced the filter today and yet nothing. Under a load it misses so bad, spits and sputters like u would not believe! The whole car jerks and it has actually stalled twice while driving down the road. It is through the whole rpm range, but yet with no load it runs good, doesnt hesitate at all. Any ideas?

boost leak test, check the plugs and replace if needed b/c of rich condition brought on by boost leak

I pre-apologize for not adding a constructive suggestion as to what this issue may be... As such I don't understand how stalling while the car is in motion on the street/track could be caused by a boost leak. I have read may things regarding BOV not venting to atmosphere unless the car is otherwise adjusted for it, is this a similar issue?

AWDTSIer - I see you are a new member here, does this also mean you are a new owner of your vehicle? By this I mean to ask do you know the full history of the vehicle and could you give the community any further insight?
Also, you say it runs good at idle (lets say ~1000 RPM) but then later you say you have this issue through the whole RPM range. I am wondering if, after boost hits, you see this problem, i.e. does this problem exist for the RPM range of idle to whatever RPM your boost hits? Logically if the car runs smoothly at RPM below boost this could tell us that there is an issue with the turbo/leaks etc. Someone please correct me if I am wrong!

If you have not already found these links for a boost leak test here are two possibilities:

and

I had similar problems when I first got my car. I fixed all the boost leaks and it was still doing the same thing and I found out later that it was my timing plate(the plate behind the crank gear) was spinning freely. I would check your timing marks and then pull the timing covers off and look at the plate.

I have just replaced the plugs with ngk iridiums, and new magnacore wires. It stutters and jerks through out the whole rpm range, meaning, yes even before it hits boost, but it idles at 1000rpm fine at times then at others it surges so bad and quickly it stalls itself out. I am going to do a boost leak test here soon and see if that helps. I just installed a new evo 16g on, Not a knock off pos either! I am running a 2ng gen mass air. Also i have no fuel upgrades at this time. But when i come to a red light i can hear the fuel pump whining, Could this be the problem? I have heard over and over that a fuel pump either works or it doesnt? :toobad:

Id check your MAF I had the same prob but that was me being a dumb ass and forgot to plug the wires back into the MAF :shhh: LOL, or take another look at you fuel system as ive learned over the years that if you do something to your car and it runs bad then you have done something wrong or disturbed something, basically id check everything out that you touched .

You want the ngk BPR6es plugs. Not the BPR6eix.Gap them to.028, and check for boost leaks. After you have fixed all the leaks if it still does it close the gap in your spark plugs by .002 increments.

Is your car tuned or do you have any 550 injectors because unless I am mistaken an upgraded turbo and a 2g maf you will NEED some kind of fuel tuning as in AT LEAST 550 injectors and a safc to fine tune it, and probably a logger.

I am thining your problem is probably you 2g maf because like I mentioned I am pretty sure you need some 550 injectors at a minimum else it will probably run lean. And I am thinking cause these problems you are having. Do some research on it you will see.

My fuel system is completely stock, pump and everything! I know i should have done a blt but i didnt have a tester at that moment. Just got home from getting the materials so thats what im goin to do next. But now im thinki9ng about buying some 550 injectors, and a 190 lph pump with a safc and fpr.

Just had a thought you did put the fuel filter in the right way?

ok, just got done doing a boost leak test and found that the tb elbow gasket is leaking and also, the thermal vacuum valve on the thermostat housing is leaking. Anyone know where i can get one of these? Would these leaks cause my hesitation?

when ever you first turn on the car the CEL comes on for 5 seconds testng the ecu not necesarily meanng it is throwing a code. but while it is running is a diffent story what method are using to pull the codes

The light comes on while i am driving down the road, it goes rite back off though. also i did a little expierimenting today on my way bak from work, i unplugged what i think is the TPS, its the sensor on the top right side of the throttle body, and it ran decent, only missed for a second then it wld run fine?
