You are pressure testing the intake, not the exhaust.

But you are correct when you say that some of the boost will leak out the exhaust valves and into the exhaust manifold. But that amount of pressure is insignificant and you should still be perfectly able to pressure test your pipes.

Exhaust leaks before the O2 and turbo are just as bad as boost leaks.

Its right near the wastegate hole. So it is before the turbo but not the O2 sensor.
