Trans problems or is it normal

So i was driving my car kinda hard and at high rpms the transmission doesnt engauge. Not touching anything the trans will engage by itselft when the rpms drop low enough. Could it be a problem with my trans or is this normal??? The motor has just been rebiult and the cluch has plenty of meat left on it.

What condition is your pressure plate in.(never replaced or new.)

bought the car in boxes used the one that it had
EDIT:could that be it? or could it ne somthing else

The pressure plate more likly has lost its ablilty to hold the clutch.
