93 laser running problem

My buddy and I are working on a 94 laser 5spd awd.

The problem we are having is that it starts cold but after running will not start unless you hold the gas peddle to the floor, even then its at 1200rpm then dies out.
When its first started its realy boggy on the bottem end but it seems to open up as the rpm go's up.

Any Ideas....?

hows the BOV is it recirculated

have you checked the MAF that might be another problem

mabye a bad ecu? Or mabye its the valve timing is way off, jumped a tooth or someone did the timing belt and messed it up.
