So I just got done putting my stage 2.5 Teamrip transmission in, with a low mileage transfer case, Fidanza 2.1 Carbon/Kevlar Clutch, and a Fidanza 8lb Aluminum FLywheel. The car seemed to drive fine, but when I parked the vehicle in my driveway I saw a small trail of gear oil leading to my car. I Jack it up ; to find that in between the transmission and the transfer case (where the transfer case attaches to the transmission spline) Is 90% sure to be where it is leaking gear oil. Now, would that be a seal in my transmission, or a seal in my transfer case? Thanks for the help :)

Okay well I took it about 5minutes down the road to go see a movie, and give it a test run and I popped a piece of cardboard under the car while i was inside to see if it leaked anymore. It leaked about half a cup probably and Now whenever I go to engage the clutch; it slips under pressure. Could gear oil from the transfer case seal going bad got on my clutch, or do you think my transfer case is locking up? Just let me know, i'm going to tear it apart tomorrow and look at everything, thanks.

There shouldn't be any transmission fluid able to pass through your rear main seal at all. Not having an inspection plate wouldn't matter, but you should have one.

So..I was looking at my car again before work today. I didn't get a chance to look at the transmission or transfer case leak, but I did look over my engine performance. A little history on my car: You see I had a shop around here do my 6-bolt swap and I paid for over 15 grand of parts to get the car running. The car then blew up in a week, and took them a month to finally take it back on and rebuild it, where I had to pay for half of the rebuild. I took the car up there about three weeks after the rebuild to take care of an oil pan leak. They dropped my transfer case, didn't put gear oil back into it, and my engine had a horrible vibration ever since. They thought it was the transmission but claimed it was a defective transmission (even though it didn't vibrate until they worked on it). So..about 2 weeks later my transmission blew on the highway cruising at 65. I bought this new transmission because they are claiming it's not their fault. but anyways, I bought it, a new clutch and a flywheel, put them all in, and my engine STILL has a horrible vibration to it....Now..I just want to get a 3/4 refund for all this drama and make them do it, and I can't figure out where to start. Do I contact a lawyer, or consumer affairs? I live in Indiana but the shop is in Ohio right across the border. Please help me out..I'm desperate now. This has been over a year long issue and I honestly want to get out under this..I've lost my job and was forced to get a local bottomwage job, just to pay for this car. I'm done though, so if any of you guys know anything about this please give me a heads up where to start. I'd appreciate it..

I just got home and dropped the transfer case in about 20 minutes, and there seems to be no oil leaking out of it. I can feel a little bit of gear oil or oil inside of the bellhousing, and some around the slave cylinder boot when I pulled it out. Looks like my next two off days will be pulling my transmission back out again -_-....

What's a good way to clean clutch disks? brake cleaner?

Ahh there's nothing more depressing than seeing transmission fluid come pouring out of the bellhousing when you jack up the right side of the car.. :( .. Oh well..Just updating hehe..so anyways , how hard is it to replace the main shaft transmission seal?
