so my ecu crapped out on me.. :( a ground inside of it shorted out so i have had to wire my PMI relay diectly to ground with a toggle switch ghetto i kno but it works for now. so here is my problem. its a 1990 talon tsi. what kind of ecu do i need to try and find?

so the 90is different then the 91-94? if i have to get one like that how would i get it to work?

Sounds like cap damage in the ecu took out the trace for the driver that controls the MPI relay.

Yes, the 90 ecus are slightly different from the 91-94s. There are work arounds if you want to use a 91-94 ecu (easier to find).

One option:
converting a 1990 to a 1991-1994 ecu system

Another option:

You still need to swap pins 6 and 14, but these solve the tach problems associated with swapping to a 91-94 ecu. Hope this helps.
