Question New Clutch, 500 Mile Adjustment Coming Up

What exactly is involved in adjusting the clutch on my 2g GST. The clutch manufacturer recommends so-called 'Critical' adjustments at 500 and 1500 miles or clutch failure could result and so on.

The hydraulic clutch system on DSMs (and, virtually all hydraulic clutches) self-adjust as they wear until you're down to not having enough friction thickness for they system to accommodate.

That is only for clutch engagement point - how far the pedal comes up before the clutch starts to grab. As Defiant said the hydraulic system automatically adjusts as the clutch wears. There is no manual adjusting needed.

yeah clutch adjustment only refers to cable clutches, and even some of those have a self-adjusting mechanism

Whenever the clutch is replaced you need to adjust (at least check) the release point. Its the point in pedal travel where the clutch starts to grab. Other than that, the clutch is a hydraulic working system, and no other periodic "adjustments" are needed.
