I am Going to be buying a car from my friend... i have been waiting for ever for this. I am the owner of a 99 galant, that has been my pride and joy for quite some time. But here it goes !!!
I have had for some time.. a 6 bolt 4g63t motor, and 5 spd trans. As a future rebuild / Swap.
The current car that im getting is a 7 bolt 4g63t. It is all in pieces and all i am missing is the turbo. other than that, it just needs put back together. So basicly i need a Turbo BADLY !!!!
at least just to get her up and running. And i was wondering what a turbo setup would cost me ? I have everything. Except the turbo. all the inter coolers. the piping, its a FWD turbo platform. Any help on this would be much appreciated !!!!
If i can get someones help with this turbo issue, which i am hoping i can find a TDO4 Turbo to bolt right in, which was what was there. he cracked his head gasket and basicly scrapping the car for an AWD he bought. I bought it....
So i have a perfectly brand new block, with roughly 100 miles on it. brand new rings and gaskets everything all round. Bottom end is 100 % new !!!
plus it is bored .40 over, and has the after market wise co pistons , and brian crowler cams. blanace eliminator kit and everything. Only problem he said, is that it wouldnt keep an steady idle. And the only thing he didnt replace was the Thermostat. when he rebuilt the motor, so it over heated . and blew up. And the compression was 120- 90-90-90-
Kinda strange compression readings, But i rebuilt my 4g64. and it was fairly simple, was wonderin what you all think ?!
Im not even sure where to begin on finding a turbo, or how much they cost. MSG me thanks.

Oh yea. he did the valves himself the first time, and the compression was 90-60-75-90 So he had his head rebuilt. then he got it to finaly run. But kepy dying at idle. So im just guessing that there was just an error in the head work, i can take my time and rebuild this head, with a nice port and polish, and should be able to get the head perfect. As well as i have been helping him, and have set the timing 20 + times. i can do the timing one handed on these things. Blind folded ###### !
