I have a side mounting intercooler but would rather do a front mounting one, but ive heard froma few friends that the front mounting labels you for theft. just wondering if anyone has had any problems with this or not.

Well if a thief only goes for that then your lucky. From my experince a crack head would steal anyrthing he thinks he could sell at a pawn shop fast. As for the pro's they would go for the radio an stuff they can see in the back of the car windows. Stickers give thay away. Now the final one your friends you cant trust. they will steal the car an strip all your mods off of it before you knew anything was going on. I had an old roommate do that to me. An I nailed his ass to the wall.

that parts true i understand that completely my worry was that if someone who knows alot bout cars saw that front mount they would know theres some good money in it. but if im just bein paranoid LOL let me know ### i like the front mounts alot.

That's what I'm afraid of when I get my car put back together... maybe a detachable steering wheel? I know at least for hondas, people have a way of getting around that even with a similar steering wheel.

how hard is rewiring the fuel pump, my old honda had a kill switch that was like a key but it was a pain in the ass to put it in or take it out LOL.

A thief will most probably steal things that he can sell easily - like radio, subs, etc. I doubt anyone will go after a FMIC especially if it requires taking or ripping the front bumper off first.

I think the OPs friends mean it highlights the car as one that has expensive goodies under the hood and can be taken to a chop shop but I could be wrong and thats why I was mentioning the fuel pump switch.

Doing a fuel pump rewire is pretty easy and there are a bunch of guides on here and vfaq.com about it, it is considered a cheap performance mod because it will increase the flow of your fuel pump pretty significantly and take a potential setup from dangerously short on fuel to a healthy safety margin. Adding a switch and running it to your wheelwell would be simple. The whole process costs about $15 and takes less than an hour for most people. Just search "fuel pump rewire".

I made my ignition 2 momentary switches that have to be held at the same time with the fuel pump on to start the car. I went to a place to get my wideband put in a i forgot to tell them LOL. They called me 10 minutes later wondering what was goin on.

the guy before me installed a silencer system. its an eprom chip that goes in right by the ecu eprom. basically its a switch that, when the eprom is removed, will not let the car turn over. its essentially as tho the starter has died when you do that. i hide it in the car every time i lock it up and i think it might work if someone slashed my soft top, but idk if itd be worth the money, it was just there when i got the car and its kinda nifty :)

I think i might do the rewire but ive also been lookin into the pager alarm system for when im in class. thanks again for the tips.

I've had a pager alarm for over 4 years and I personally think that it is annoying. It goes off when it storms or when someone with a loud exhaust parks next to my car. If someone is going to steal your car, they are going to do it regardless of what kind of system you have on it and a pager is not going to prevent it. Most of the time the range is limited and you may not get reception from the alarm when you are in class.

Wire a hidden switch so that only you know what it is and where it is and don't tell anyone at the dealership or service shop or any of your friends where that switch is and what it does.

I came back from Iraq and I saw that my radio was taken from my car, good thing I have taken all my parts out of my car before I went overseas or I would of been out of a few thousand. The car was at a performance shop that was suppose to be watching it for me.

man i got a front mount. my car has been broken into but they wanted the subs but i bolted those suckers down so yea LOL. get yourself a loud alarm also you can get a battery kill switch or a fuel kill switch that will help. also get yourself a bright bright ass blue LED to put in the dash and have that flash at night that might help

You'll be surprised how stupid some people are. I've had my car broken into where someone stole my portable CD player and left subs and amps in the trunk and left fingerprints on the window in the process.

I just keep my car on camera while I'm at work... It's recorded 24/7 and kept on record for a month. :)

I've had multiple cars with security systems and they did no good. People just walk past them anymore these days "Just another damn alarm going off again!"

Now I just get the cheap keyless entry system and call it a day.
