axle problems

alright i was drivin down the road and all of a sudden evrything starts shaking. i pull over check the tires and all evrythin seems fine. i get back in and start to go i come off the clutch and it has nothing. it would roll but had no power reved up like the clutch was slipping but i kno for a fact the clutch isnt slipping. so we put the car in the garage and start to take stuff apart first we check the VC then right before im about to drop the transfer case i noticed the driver side axle was barly on the shaft.tomorrow im gettin a new c clip for the shaft to hold the axle on. would the axle not on the shaft be the problem in my case.?

Did the bolts in your bracket on the intermediate shaft snap? My friend is having the same problem and we noticed that they are snapped so now we have to pull the motor just to extract the bolts and retap them for new bolts.

I installed a new axle yesterday and didn't notice it was non-abs when i have abs. After driving the car a few feet it started to shake like you described. i put the old axle back in and the shakin disappered. The driver side axle on the AWD do not have C-clips on them, just the FWD axle. Sounds like the bracket bolts came loose or broke and the axle is sliding out. Did you change the axle recently.?

iam having a the same problem maybe someone can help. i have a 90 gsx. the guy i bought it form failed to put the ac bracket back in when he took the ac out. i didnt know this at the time. well long story short the bolts snap, i pull the motor and drill em out. now i cant get the axle to go in far enough to bolt the axle bracket to the block. any ideas?
