turn signal thingy doesnt stay

i just bought a 98 gst and when i flip the turn signal thing up for my right signal it doesn't stay but it stays when i flip it down for left turn. any clue why this is doing this?everything else about the signals works

I had that same exact problem with my car man, simple fix I just found a turn signal switch off ebay for 30$ shipped and took about 10mins to install. hope it helps
