Transmission Question

i was wondering if a 1g GST tranny will fit on a 2g GST. Its a mostly stock motor but i have a extra 1g engine/tranny in the backyard and was wondering if the 1g tranny is worth rebuilding so i can just swap the trannys out or have my 2g tranny rebuilt. any advice would be gladly appreciated.

The 1gs trans wont fit on the 2gs. I tried that because I also had a extra 1g trans and the 2g was not rebuildable. I would just get the 2g rebuilt then trying to find another one.

it may work. I think it will work for 95. For 97 and up the motor is swapping in the other way i think. 93+ transmission are much better than 92 and below. If you have a 97+ you maybe able to make it work by changing the mounts but I think you may need to make custom mounts.

O well thanks guys. i guess i'll have my 2g tranny rebuilt and wait and see if i ever crankwalk, then have my 1g rebuilt when i swap. THANKS EVERYBODY!!

Just because you have a 7 bolt don't think your going to crankwalk. Its way over-rated.

Well I'm really hopeing that my 7-bolt doesn't crankwalk because I havnt had a chance to build up my 6-bolt like I want to. but just in case it does, I want to be prepared to swap everything over to the car back on its feet in as little time as possible. So rebuilding my 1G tranny is just me being prepaired.
