Ok i have a 14b turbo that im pulling out of my 1991 eagle talon tsi awd right now. I just wanted to know if i should just upgrad my turbo now? i dont have all that much money. Also i what to know EVERYTHING i should buy with the evo3 to make it fit into my car. EVERYTHING :Þ?? Thanks. ask me questions about it if u need to i dont know much tho. the car is all stock.:talon:

Ok first of all that link you posted is not a real evo3 turbo ..
Second of all is that you cannot run 25 30 psi on a stock fuel set up. you will need a lot more than just a turbo to be able to make power but the turbo bolts right up to your car.
I suggest you should just follow the upgade path you can find it here on tuners under the TECH section.

Agreed. For comparison, my 14b runs at about 16 psi flowing about ~24 lbs/min and I'm at 93% injector duty cycle. Granted, that's on a built motor/head, but you can see that an larger turbo running even more boost/flow is going to run out of fuel REAL quick.

Take a look through the tech section to see what you need to upgrade before throwing on a larger turbo. For some reason, people today who just get into DSMs/Imports think that all they need for more power is just to put a bigger turbo on a car without going through the process of supporting that turbo. Don't be one of those people. :)

Edit: I second the position that the linked ad does not show a real Evo 16g. The adjustable wastegate actuator and the fact that they make it a point not to show the compressor housing in detail make that pretty clear.

JUNK!!!!!!!!! i bought one of those from a friend.... i ended up selling it as scrap

edit...the ebay one not a real one

You probably need to get some gaskets. Before swapping the turbo tho, like stated above, you should look into giving your engine more room to breathe. A hard intake pipe, aftermarket boost gauge, and freer flowing exhaust will cost about as much as a new real evo3 16g, but at this point will probably net you more power than just swapping in the 16g. 14b is not a bad turbo, it spools very fast and can make you happy with the right supporting parts.

One thing to remember is to prime the turbo before you start it up after bolting it on. :tease:I had a friend blow his turbo after it sat for a long time when he was getting his cams put in.

You have a good turbo stock.
Don't underestimate the 14B and don't get rid of it untill you have maxed its potential.
why spend money when you havent maxed out the setup you already have?
