I SEARCHED THE FORUM FOR A SIMILAR STRING OF QUESTIONS BUT FOUND NONE SORRY IF I MISSED ONE THOUGH ANY WHO HEREs MY PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AS SOON AS I BOUGHT THE CARs THE DIFFERENTIAL WENT OUT AND IT COSTED A FORTUNE  i figure it had been abused from previous owner but this still got to me any who i just out on a 18 dry shot of nos (soon as i get a fuel pressure gauge its gona be a wet 50) i ran it only one time and it gave me no problems however the other day my car suddenly started jerking so i pulled the car over and checked it out i slowly rolled the car when it suddenly started grinding and completely locked up now the car will not role in neutral
i assume it maybe the ball bearings in the DIFFERENTIAL so i parked the car and had it toed the next day.so my real question is this if i modded my car more how can i save my differential i wanna be able to occasionally drag race it but it realy scares me that i am haveing so many problems do they make any after market DIFFERENTIAL parts or what can i do please help also the car is a 1998 gsx small mods

Well first you need to determine whether or not it is the differential, the trans or the transfer case. If its the transfer case then the dealer will replace it for free. It is under recall. If its the differential then you need to determine what is causing repeated failure.

Take a look at the transfer case that is bolted to the trans. Is it leaking? Check the fluid. If there isnt any then theres your problem. Same with the differential. Determine which part is broken first then we can go from there.

this is another very big question for me how much power can a stock differential take i have a hunk load of parts from my old (3rd gen)car that i want to put on it but i wont even bother if it can take much power

usally 400 whp is no prolbem for a dsm stock drive train. but if your having prolbems take it to a shop get it diagnosed, then go from there.. like said before there is a recall on the transferr case.
