Well I just bought a 96 Tsi AWD automatic. I got the new timing set, water pump, oil pump, balance shaft eliminator, apexi boost controler and turbo timer, all new gaskets, fuel filter, trans filter and fluids and wheel bearings ready to install / installed. I already checked the spark plugs and they look like they are already new. So when I go to install some new gaskets and timing set is there anything else I should look for or do while I'm in there. Right now the car doesnt drive too bad, but it just doesnt seem to make power over 3000rpms it just acts like the trans is slipping. Hopefully that goes away with some of these new parts (I"ve already looked for vaccum leaks with none found).

After I gett this group of parts installed I plan on getting
(this month)
Coil on Plug setup
button shifting
better brakes
FMIC
FULL Exhaust

(starting next month)
Doing some head work
Fuel delievery and management
engine management
turbo/ header

The Goal is to be the fastest car in my driveway so I'm thinking I'll need at least 400hp. This seems like a logical order just want to make sure I'm on the right track.

Anything wrong with my plan of action any anything I should whatch for while i'm in there?

Lol @ the goal. Somewhere along the line you'll want to get a bigger turbo because you'll max out the stocker quick with those mods.

Sounds like a good plan. I would waste your money on coil on plugs right now. They will only give you very minimal gains as of now. A good set of ngk or magnecore wires will do fine.
You say you checked for vacuum leaks, does that include boost leaks?
I would upgrade the fuel system and turbo etc before messing with the head, unless pulling the head is necessary at this point.
Good luck!

So it sounds like I have everything covered for the Timing Belt job?
haha, funny you should say check for boost leaks. I just got the boost controller installed and I hit about 9.7lbs then it falls to like 7. Factory gauge wasnt accurate enough to let me know it was falling that much. So now I gotta start looking for boost leaks.
The reason I want to do a COP setup is because I just really think it looks good and clean and then no worry bout plug wires.
Well I wanted to do the head gasket and and slap on my new head studs and a few other goodies to the head, just because I like head work and I believe VERRY deaply in head work. I am trying to to make this car as reliable as stock.
I'm sorry I failed to mention that I was planning on doing a couple little cosmetic things to;) I wanna get a see threw cam cover and a couple other goodies. and as soon as I get my bike sold I'll pitch some money of that in something special for the tsi :) and finish the turbo 5.0 300zx

400hp ull need at least a big 16g.

A COP setup is not needed until you reach 600+hp. just get magnacore wires and you're set. Using just the COP will actually be a downgrade. You'd need an ignition box like and MSD or dynatek.

Big enough? haha, naw thats the turbo on my Z. I got a t3/t4 sittin in my garage sounds kinda tempting heh and i'll check them out when i start doing some tranny work.

SOOO, my fridge crapped out and had to buy another one, down fall of the new one is the Ice maker doesnt work so while I was trying to canabalize my old one to make the new one work i made a disturbing discovery. In the Ice maker there are a couple cool little trigger switches (similar if not the same as WOT switches etc. and the solonoid for water) SOOOOOO I'm going to rig up an InterCooler spray kit. I think it can be a good idea :) We'll have to see how it works :)

well, Time for an update even though its been forever haha. well the woman ran the car out of oil, i got ripped off on an engine from a member here, so now I finally got an engine with a bad turbo and yea. SOOOOO, I bought a t3 header had to do some modifications and well I'll get some pictures up shortly and one can see what I've gone threw. Lets just say nitrous, t3, BIG FMIC, etc. shootin for bigger power :)

sorry i'm too tired to resize photos right now to post, will do soon
