Hey everyone! I am finally tearing my block apart. I mean in pieces. I parked the car a year ago and have not touched it or have even thought about it and I am really getting the itch again. So this weekend I am going to start tearing it apart.

My question is, is there anything I need to do or need to have to start breaking this motor down? Is there a specific thread or vfaq that I could read before doing it?

I have never tore a motor down before so this will be my first. And last question. Is there anything that you guys have run into before that I should be aware of? I was really big into dsms for quite sometime but life happened and I have been away for awhile. I have a 6 bolt 4 bolt combo 92 gsx. I have most of my engine info on my profile. Any help or direction would be awesome. Thanks Everyone

Chad

Follow this guide first for the disassembly portion:
Timing Belt VFAQ (Timing Belt TSB - ENHANCED)

And then follow this guide:
Balance Shaft Eliminator Kit Install

If you do the disassembly out of order, it makes some of the pieces on the timing belt side difficult to remove (ask me how I know).

Also, spray down the turbo bolts and exhaust manifold bolts with pb blaster now and spray them at least once a day until you start tearing it down. Hopefully, this will save you some hassle from broken bolts.
