94 Eagle talon tsi awd. i am swapping motors and have both axles out and everything unhooked. all thats left is the rear driveshaft. I am new to working on this car and whats the easiest way to unhook it? thanks

alright thanks. do these motors come out the top with the transmission still bolted on or out the bottom? they guy i bought the motor from said i couldnt pull the motor out with the tranny attached. Its an automatic

With the trans attached you can pull it out on an angle, lift from the timing belt side and it'll clear the frame rail.

thanks. thats what i thought just threw me off when the guy said i couldnt. Ive had the car for six months now and i have only got to drive it thirty miles. It overheated right after i got it and put tags on it. Spun rod bearing.

I'm workin in a small garage with no lift or anything. i had thought about hooking a chain fall to the front end and lowering it all the way to the floor then dropping the motor and lifting the body back up but i think that will be difficult

when i unbolt the transfer case will it have to slide back some to come away from the transmission or will it be free away by just removing the bolts?

The output shaft of the tranny runs left-to-right, so the t-case will slide off toward the driver's side of the car a few inches, then down. You don't even need to remove the t-case from the driveshaft yoke if you don't want to.

thanks to all yall. I got my motor pulled today. Very tight fit LOL. Hopefully by the weekend i will have my new motor setting in the car and start hooking everything back up. Any tips for puttin the motor and tranny back in?
