7 bolt engine mated to 6 bolt trans

First things first. This is on an AWD Talon that had an engine swapped. So the engine may be a 6-bolt already.

Okay. I searched first, and looked in the huge 6 bolt vs. 7 bolt merge thread, and did not find (or see) an answer to my question.

The 1GB Talon I am looking at has a bad 1st gear synchro. And it grinds from nuetral into 3rd and speed (maybe unrelated?) Well my friend is building up his 6 bolt 1G, and went with a Stage 2 trans, leaving his stock 1GA trans availible. He said if I need it, he will sell it for $100. Now, I did a bit more searching, and I think I saw somewhere that said it will work, you just need to swap the flywheel or something?

Initial question, will the 1GA trans bolt onto the 1GB engine?
If so, what mods need to be made, if any?

It is a AWD trans from a 90 TSI. Into an AWD 93

You just keep whatever flywheel you have in your 93, it doesn't matter if your engine is a 6-bolt or not. You will have to switch the cables and shifter out to properly use the 90 trans in your 93. The shifter and cables are different on the 90. Also, the 90 trans has a 22 spline Transfer case and the 91+ has a 23 spline transfer case. If you can also get the 90 transfer case, you should be good. Otherwise, you will have to put your 23 spline output shaft into that 90 transfer case. That's more work though.
