Ok so i bought a 1991 Talon months ago, and it was a N/A Block and the guy put on a Turbo... Ran great... Months later, the car started having a bad idle surge....well got some info heard they do it alot...so didnt bother me... Finnaly, the car got a bad knock, but i continued to drive it... Finnaly after that, the car started running like crap... I mean it was stuttering bad, and the fuel guage was going back and forth very fast that the lights looked all on all the way to the green, and would just accelerate like garbage and sounded like crap....
Basically when i took off, if the boost went over 5lbs the car would begins tuttering and the aitr fuel ratio would go back and forth very very fast that it looked like all the lights were on.... I tried changing my wires, my spark plugs, even checked the injectors and they were all spraying, they had 450 blue tops in them
Soon after that my knock got really bad, i had to take it to a friend of mines house, he pulled the na block for me, put in a Turbo block out of a 1g and ported the turbo, the exhaust manifold and the intake... when i went to pick it up, he told me 1 of my injectors were bad, so i went and bought a set of 4 used injectors, put them on, and One of the injectors caps was cracked, my old injectors had no caps on them (but my friend said they dont run right without them)
Well the car runs better when cruising on the highway or at a steady cruise and lightly accelerating.... but now when I start up the car, it takes forever to turn over, and when it does it runs like crap for awhile... till eventually itll run alil smooth... but once my boost goes over 4-5lbs it starts stuttering again and the AIR/FUEL autometer goes haywire... so i have to drive it normal... when i first start it up and i start taking off the car sputters and then will start jumping foward and then sputters and then jumps foward some more back and forth....
Im confused on this, anyone have any ideas
Im new with DSM's, I had all v8's all my life, from Novas to Vettes to Camaros, and couldnt afford the gas so i got me a lil 4cyl, so im still new at the language... its a good car, and i know the potential of these cars, just really hard to keep maintained
it has a second Gen tranny with a ACT 2200 i believe clutch, and flywheel, ported parts, and a turbonetics BOV, and a front mount...
i really want to get this car to run like it use to... but this fuel promblem is becoming a nucense...
could my fuel pump be the promblem?
