I have a 97 TSi AWD with a 6 bolt. My ECU is fried. Will an ECU out of a 97 GST work well? If not, what year ECU do I need.

If you aren't in a hurry, consider getting an eprom ecu now in stead of spending the extra money later. That way you can get DSMlink and clear the possible misfire code that the 6 bolt swap may throw at you. Personally I hate to spend money twice.

The car ran fine before the ECU fried itself. It didnt throw any CEL's or have an other issues. Im guessing that that means when I plug in the 97 turbo ECU I will have the same results..?

Edit: I won't be needing an EPROM as I'm going to be selling the car once I get this ECU issue resolved.
