Car Won't Start

I was driving and the car turned off, I coasted to a stop and the car won't start again. Will not even crank over. Now the werid stuff, there was dog food on my valve cover. I left my car in the garage while I was out of town and I think mice were hanging out in my engine bay. I can't find anything obvious so here is a list of what works: headlights (hi and low), taillights, horn, power door locks, and cabin lights. And what doesn't engine (not cranking), fan, radio, windows, gauges, blinkers, car alarm, and ps/pb (could be cause the car won't turn on). I tried jumping the car, but didn't work and since the lights ect. work it should be the battery. Any ideas of where or what to look for??? Thanks

Does the boost gauge rise or cel come on in your car when key is on position? Was car giving any signs of dying before it did?

no gauges work (I have aftermarket boost, water temp, oil press., and an a/f). The only dash light that comes on is the door open one (cause the door was open). There were some signs, lights would sometimes dim when I braked along with my radio stopping for a couple sec. I think that means the Alt. but would that cause this since some things still work? And the car wouldn't turn on while beening jumped? Also, I checked fuses and they were ok.

check all your fuses.

that happened to me once. some electric stuff worked but some didnt.
mine was the ignition switch fuse.

Mice like wire insulation. Check your wiring harness for contenuity/shorts.

K, I actually have a new wiring harness already. Are they easy to replace?

Fixed, it was the ignition switch fuse. Now how do I figure out why it blew? I remember a post about a light test for fuses but I can't find it. Thanks

Thank goodness it was the ignition fuse and not the ECU. Mine blew because I had some aftermarket wiring that grounded out a lot and another because my ignition switch wires were burnt together.
