head gasket shim?

I hava simple question as im just starting to build a 1g dsm witha 4g63t . my question is fora head gasket shim does the shim go in between the block and gasket or the head and gasket?

With this head gasket you need to make sure you block and head surface is feeler gaged to make sure its not warped and it need to have a mirror surface clean to it.

BTW if money is not a problem let me gets a little.

What was it that the Ferrari put a layer of over you? Tire dust?

ferrari's are fast anda 280zx 2 seater with a big block 427 is a nasty car beings they weigh 2100 lbs without engine. i'm new to four cylinders but not v8's Defiant.. thanks silver everythings been done that needs to be just the guy at the machine shop said run a shim. but i take it a thicker gasket will work just as well?

No need to explain it to me. I shocked the hell out of a buddy who had an old GTB 475 four seater. He didn't think a Datsun 2000 should be able to stick with him. Ferrari's built some fine boats in their day.

In reply, to the first poster. If you need a thicker head gasket, you can custom make it with cometic. they can make you any gasket along with the desired thickness and bore size. Most online shops that list this gaskets dont have it in stock. My head got warped and i had to mill it out of spec, so im getting a thicker gasket to compensate. Talk, to this people, they are pretty nice, and they can order a custom gasket from cometic. As far as i know, this are the thicknesses available. .051 is the one that is always in stock and everybody buys. Good luck.
