I've decided to take my car to the race track next week (not going tonight because I'm trying to work out some coolant problems).

Problem #1:
It's really hard to get the shifter into 2nd gear, it happens downshifting, regular driving, shifting fast, etc. No grinding or popping out, it's just hard to get into gear. It prevents me from shifting fast. Will Syncromesh help this, is there something else, or is it just something I have to deal with? My previous 97 GST had the same problem :notgood:
Although shifting to every other gear is fine.

What kind of times can I expect to run? Mods are in my profile, but I will post them here...

I can launch decent, shift decent (except the problem mentioned above), etc. My wideband reads 11-11.6 under boost (13 psi)

First thing to try for your shifting problem would be to replace the tranny fluid with some redline mtl or another good fluid. Your syncros for second gear are probably worn, but new fluid will help smooth the shift.

As for times, just wait until you get to the track, there are way too many variables such as temperature, altitude, driving skill, how hard you launch, whether you have raced before, and your car's tune to be able to make an accurate estimate.

1.) Don't Bump your threads
2.) Don't Bench Race
3.) Try re-bleeding your clutch system/ and or try some different trans fluid. It could possible be an actual transmission issue but lets rule out the easy parts first.

The problem is you're granny shifting and not double clutching like you should.

j/k

It's a pretty normal problem doing the quick shift from 1-2 in my car. To kanderson's point, you'll just have to find what works for you.

As mentioned above, try changing fluids, then putting in a weighted shift knob to help you bang through gears. Try BG Syncroshift fluid.
