ok I got everything to go on my ebay 16g (Please no flaming or making this whole thread about an ebay to real 16g comparison) and it came with all the bolts, washers, gaskets ect... So I start the car and have some sort of a rough idle and oil's leaking out of the oil return line where it connects to the turbo. It has a gasket there so I have no idea do you guys?

no sealant or washers and there on there pretty good i tighten them nicely
Obviously you don't have a good seal or there wouldn't be an oil leak. Take the oil return line off again. Check the return line flanges and make sure they're flat with no burrs. I found the return line the biggest pain to get back in without leaks of all the turbo lines. Use new gaskets. Connect the line to the oil pan first, turbo last. Use RTV gasket sealer. Over-tightening can warp the flanges and create leaks. Screwdriver tight is enough, use a spin-tight handle instead of a socket wrench. We're talking in/lbs not ft/lbs.

Did you check for boost leaks after installing and before starting the engine? Disconnect your battery to reset the ECU. It may idle rough for a little while (5-10 minutes) but it will learn to run with the new set up, unless you have intake leaks after your turbo install.

Had identical problem with my return line. The return line was brand new and after I went through 3 sets of gaskets that was enough. Ended up taking it to my local machinist and becuase I had overtightened it the first time (turbo to line side) it did cause the weak metal to warp. It was so my-noot (SP) that you couldnt tell by eye but when he checked for flatness it was way off. He cleaned it up for me and made me a better gasket. Cost 20bucks and was worth every penny (hasnt leaked since). Also if your deciding to buy a FMIC off ebay do the same thing and make sure your UIC is true and flat to the TB surface or you will def. have boost leak.

good luck hope that helps.

and use some sealant this time!

ok I havent really let it run for more than 5 minutes due to mass amounts of smoke LOL but it does have a new gasket in there ill take it off today and check it out... do I put sealant on gasket then gasket to line?

did you pull the oil return line off and make sure it is flat? put on a new gasket, and RTV on both sides!

i was told to just put permatex high temp gasket sealer on it and let it sit for a day hows that sound?

i have had this leak a few times on me too. what i do is now that your gasket is soaked in oil im guessing. go to any autoparts store. buy some ultra copper permatex, or ultra black, and a sheet of gasket material. Trace the old gasket onto the paper cut it out, apply a thin coat of rvt, and your done. You do not need to let it dry for a whole day, the heat will make it dry, let it sit for an hour or so. Good luck :thumb:

listen dude its my first time doing a turbo install and im doing it all by myself ok so even though its a simple problem its my first time having this problem therefore I dont know a solution. That is why I sit here at the computer on this forum asking for help ok? Anyways I put the sealer on the line where it connects to the turbo and that got rid of the leak but now its leaking to where it connects to the oil pan. What could I do to fix that problem without disconnecting the line from the turbo.

I thought about that but would i have enough room to move it around to put the sealant on there...I dont know I guess Ill just figure it out. Thanks alot with all your help guys dsmtuners ftw!:thumb::dsm:

What I did to fix mine was, after buying a roll of gasket material, trace and cut out two gaskets using the old oily one (after wiping it off real good). Use your RTV or whatever, I used IndianHead gasket shilak (sp?) and stuck them together. Then wipe off the oil on the mating surfaces of both the tube AND oil pan flange. Use a paper towel or something with some nail polish remover or something that will cut oil and dry clean. Apply more RTV/ whatever to both those surfaces (NICE EVEN THIN LAYER). Line it all up and let it sit for at least a few hours before you circulate oil through.

You dont even need to drain all the oil (some is expensive), get your drain container and after getting the flange off the pan just let it sit and drip, after it levels off you can wipe the stuff off and begin. Its relatively easy to take off after lifting the front end.

Hope this helps!

yesterday i've just been in the same situation that you. really easy to fix if the leak is coming from the return oil tube to the pan like you said. take the front of the car on jack stand .drain like a quarter of oil of your pan by unscrewing the oil pan plug. slide under the car and unscrew those two holding bolts with a 10mm socket. pry off a little the oil tube to get enough room between him and the pan. wipe both surfaces really dry and now use RIGHT STUFF. this is the real name of the silicone! its the best thing ever made for gasket maker. use only this stuff and no gasket. let it dry like one hour before refilling your oil to normal level.and after it should be no oil leak. put a little of RIGHT STUFF on yout bolts threads too before screwing them back.
