I have read many other forums and just can't decide. I will be replacing my big 16g with a 50 trim in the next month but don't know which one to go with. I know that my 660s most likely won't be able to use the turbo to its full potential but id rather be a little short than go with another big 16 and i will eventually get new injectors. I will be getting dsmlink b4 the new turbo goes in so that won't be an issue either. But based on my set up, me using the car as a daily driver, but still wanting to make a good amount of power i decided on the 50 trim. Now the question is what 50 trim to go with. I was thinking of going straight to garrett and getting a 50 trim internally gated but is that the best way to go?

My PTE 50 trim uses a Garrett BB center cartrige and Im very happy with it. It hits 25 psi at 3700 rpm and pulls hard up to my shift point at 8k. Its internaly gated and I (suprisingly) have no creap issues with my setup.

I bought it from Dejon Tools for $1300 shipped with new stainless oil and water lines.

I have heard good things about Slowboys G50 turbo as well. Its a 50 trim journal bearing (probably Garrett center cartrige) turbo, so it wont spool quite as quick but it is priced $300 or more less.

On the other side is Forced Performance FP30 series turbos. They also use Garrett BB center cartriges, and are probably a little better that other turbos, but like everything else from FP, it will cost a little more.

I think a 50 trim is the perfect balance for a street turbo. It can make lots of power and still provide quick spool up. But I would definatly recommend upgrading injectors if you plan to turn up the boost.

You need to be more descriptive, full mods list? What manifold(s), fuel set up intercooler. That will all help us better assist you in this decision making proces. Goals with the car, dead stop, autocross, highway?

I dont think you can go wrong with the gt3076r...Very well balanced street turbo.

I think your going to find that a DBB is your frend on the street and will easily take the cake to most of these intenet questions. Fast spool, holds power well, expensive. You will feel it more in the pocket. But whats the big deal if you wait one more month to get your turbo you can be happy for the next year or two until you upgrade.

Also, i wouldnt rule out the S256. Made by borg waner, spools decently fast for a journal bearing(i believe). Way more expensive but basicly spools like a 50 trim yet has 35r killing power.

I have a SlowBoy Racing G50. You can see the mods in my profile. I am going to take this turbo into the 10's on the stock bottom end. I highly reccomend this turbo and SBR as a vendor.:thumb:

Coincidentally, I have a Slowboy G50 I'm trying to get rid of. PM me if you're interested.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you getting rid of it? Going bigger, don't like it, car broken????? Just curious. Thanks!

What do you guys think about the Turbonetics line of turbos? I have heard nothing but good things about them. If you have a t3 setup allready these sound like a good turbo. They look pretty too.

I would go with Precision or Bullseye all day, all of our shop cars use them no problems, high HP and excellent quality.
