Ok my battery died and my friend and I were trying to leave for the beach and we didnt have any jumper cables or anyone to jumps us!SOO he said lets use an wall outlet to jump it!:toobad: so us being 18 year old dummys we took off the battery cut out a wall plug and wired it up to the battery wire.I left the car ignition on and went over to plug it in and....:cry:it went BUZZZZZT for like 3 secs so I yanked it out quick. we didnt go to the beach instead got a cab and got a battery and now my car cranks up but it dont prime. I tested my fuel pump and it works and changed the fuel pump relay for my spare and still nothing. I think I may have fried my ECU or something. ANYONE have any ideas of what could have happened? and how can I check to see if I fried the ECU?i know i can get one at the junkyard from a manual eagle talon since it has a 420a and its manual just like mine. Please help i need my car for everything.

I checked all my fuses and my fusible links and they look fine. im gonna go pull the ecu now and open it up. anyone got any other ideas or knows ### happened?

Besides running 120 V Alternating Current into a system designed for 12 V Direct Current?

Most likely you fried the voltage regulators on your ECU. And possibly a few sensors and coils. I don't mean to sound cruel by this... its just we don't really know how much damage you did. So it'll take alot of effort on your part to walk through the issues and fix them. Start with pulling out the ECU (i believe the NT is in the engine bay and easy to reach). Open it up and inspect it for burn marks. With any luck you just fried the ECU and nothing else.

Look for things like in this photo. Note the smoke burn marks on the resistors [Labeled R15 +- 10% in the photo] (and not just the obvious melted IC).

i think that i probably fried the ecu only because i checked all my relays and fuels and they were fine. everything is in shape except that the fuel pump wont turn on and i checked the fuel electrical system.im gonna go pick up another ecu now to try it out.

OK thank god!I grabbed my friends ecu and it work so my ecu is out of order and thats it. good thing i didnt cause anymore ddamage for being stupid! thx everyone.
