Im milling my head way too far out of spec, and im trying to get a thick head gasket to compensate. I saw the Highest is the HKS with 1.6mm and is pretty expensive.. Any other suggestions? the copper one won´t seal unless i get my block o-ringed, so im looking for a regular metal gasket with enough thickness. Any info? Looking for 1.6mm-2.0mm

Well, im actually looking for something a little cheaper than the HKS. Around 100 bucks. But i can´t find anything thick enough like that HKS.

im in the process of getting my maintenance done before i started modding my car. My car has 113,000 km (70,000 miles). im doing all the required maintenace, im wondering if changing the head gasket is one of them? i know its a lot of work, so i dont really want to do it LOL. What other gaskets should i think of replacing?

I wouldnt change the gasket unless its leaking.

The mitsu mls 4 layer is thick enough and is around 100.00 great gasket from what i hear for your situation.

This thread got brought back a little bit... Anyway for future help, Cometic makes custom thickness gaskets.

Thats right. i got a custom made head gasket by cometic... .074 thickness (now thats sick). This is for people that don´t have acess to another head nor the money to buy one, or plan to use the head but it has to be shaved more than spec allows. As as matter of fact i installed the gasket yesterday, i started the car for about 10 seconds then it died because of lack of gas. I haven´t checked yet, if it still overheats, if it throws coolant to the bottle, or if it leaks oil yet. Im waiting this weekend to add some gas to it and test the car. So far, it started and it sounded good for the time being. I sanded the block, the most i could, and the head was done at a machine shop, since it was warped due to overheat. It might be a cheap way to fix a problem, but hey if it works, i have the same head, a MLS gasket, and near stock compression again. I also added copper spray to the gasket. If you are wondering why i just didn´t get a new head like most people will do, once again, this is an MLS gasket, with the same head and same or near compression ratio than stock, just at a fraction of the cost of a head. Btw, i paid 108 shipped to my door custom order.
