Another Brake Light Problem

I searched and found nothing that could help me. When I bought my first gen the brake lights didn't work. I checks all fuses under dash all under hood checked bulbs and replaced brake switched..Whats next?

Just the brake lights? You could have someone hold on the brake and check voltages with a volt meter all the way back. You could also check to make sure the flasher isnt burned up, dunno if that would effect it.

did you check the wiring off the main fuse box,common problem.

Yes the lights work and so do the turn signals? I checked the prong with a test light when the brake is pressed and nothing..

I had a similiar problem with my front turn signals. I replaced/checked everything. It ende up being my actual turn signal sockets, before I replaced them both I twisted and pushed on them a lot to try to get them to work, but I just cut the wires and swapped in different ones and they worked right away.

But the chances of both sockets? Well im going to check the wiring around the fuse box under the hood. Then Ill post the results.

OK I fixed it...I bought a Chilton's book to check the wire colors and found out that theres a green wire that supplies the power to all the rear lights and since I was getting power from the junction box I looked for a green wire around the brake light switch and guess what I found it was torn apart.. So I connected them together and they worked.
