2g awd fuel pump upgrade questions

hey guys. me and my buddy jared are gonna put a walboro 255 fuel pump in my 98 tsi awd. we got to the pump and got the tubes off, drained the engine started the motor, everything, but we've got some questions:

1. how do we unscrew the thing that needs the 14 and 19 wrenches?
2. how do we get the white cap thing off? it is like welded on!

while your at it, i woud re-wire your fuel pump as well. after i installed my 255 everytime i hit my brakes i could hear the pump drop in voltage, and come back up when i let off. after the re-wire the pump stays at full voltage all of the time.

It is important, but it is also very annoying if you don't. I just put in my pump and every time i turn on my turn signal, the pitch changes in time with the blinker

2G DSM FWD Fuel Pump Rewire Instructions

This is for a 2G FWD, but the FAQ similar enough to allow you to complete the upgrade.

the difference in FWD and AWD is the clip with the wires in it. they look totally different but you still use the same color wires they tell you to splice.

have you ever installed a stereo system before? if so this is cake. took me 30 minutes.

we tried to unscrew it, but the problem is that when we try to unscrew it it torques the fuel line and i dont want to break it off. it wont looosen no matter what we do and we just seem to mess up the pipe more and more as we try to fix it. need advice.

Soak that fitting with a can or two of PB Blaster over the next few days. If that doesn't do it then you may very well have to unfortunately buy another entire fuel pump assembly (either new or used). Usually that fitting is fairly tough to get off for any of us, but if the pipe/fitting is torquing as much as it looks, then there's not much else you can do. I'm assuming you're using a 19mm wrench in conjunction with the 14mm wrench, right? If not, you definitely need to do so.

Dont twist on the solid line fitting to break it loose. Grip the solid line fitting firmly and twist the rubber line fitting to break it loose. That should eliminate twisting or kinking the line.

dont forget the AFPR ( a decent one ,not a cheap B&M, that would not work) is a MUST for 255lph pumps
