Is this the whole list I need to do a full belt replacement on an automatic 1997 GSX? What is the best vendor to buy from for the best price and customer service?

Timing Belt
Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley
Idler Pulley
Timing Belt Tensioner
balance shaft belt
power steering belt
alternator belt
A/C belt
Water Pump
+ Timing Belt Idler Bearing
+ balance shaft idler bearing

I added the 2 you said here. So a total of 11 parts to do the full job, right?

I saw that there is a 4 piece kit for sale and said it included tools, do I really need to purchase those tools if I'm having an experienced shop do the install?

Please let me know what I need exactly so I can buy the parts.

How much should I expect to pay for labor on all this?

How much would be reasonable for all the parts?

You were missing the balance shaft idler bearing.

The full OEM list with Mitsu part numbers includes:

Timing Belt - MD326059
Timing Belt Tensioner Bearing - MD182537
Timing Belt Idler Bearing - MD156604
Timing Belt Tensioner - MD308086
Balance Shaft Belt - MR984778
Balance Shaft Tensioner Bearing - MD352473
Water Pump - MD972050
A/C Belt - MB568898
Power Steering Belt - MD310617
Alternator Belt - MD310616

You should always go OEM on timing belt items. They are extremely critical components and OEM are tried and true. Russell Moore at Mitsubishiparts.net (Bruce Titus Mitsubishi in Olympia, WA) can get you all of these items for much less than you would pay at ExtremePSI or Slowboy or even the dealer directly. He is the internet parts manager at Bruce Titus Automotive Group, which includes a Mitsu dealer. If you call him directly with all of those part numbers, he can get them to you quickly. He has really good prices on his website, but if you call him direct, he can get you even better prices. Inputing those part numbers on his website, the price before shipping comes to $383.57. He can do even better if you call him. 1-866-754-5500.

Here is the shopping cart I made on his website that includes all of the components I listed above: MitsubishiParts.net - Your #1 Source for OEM Parts and Accessories

wow, thanks for all the exact info. thats great. I will go thru him. the cart just has 1 item in it though but with the other numbers i can add the rest. thanks again.

No problem at all. Russell is a really cool guy. He's a supporting vendor over at EvoM with his website helping Evo guys get their OEM parts, but he helps out us DSMers in need as well... :thumb:

is the balnce shaft idler bearing the same thing as Balance Shaft Tensioner Bearing - MD352473?

Just wondering if i need 10 parts or 11 parts. wasnt sure from the way you worded it. I assume only 10 parts since thats all the numbers you gave right?

I just thought this post was superbly informative and should be bumped! Those of us looking for a full OEM Timing Kit/Timing Belt Kit are greatful.

One thing I'd like to add is that for early 95 2Gs, the Timing Belt Tensioner Adjuster is MD308587 :thumb:

Also, I'll also throw in that all 10 parts (using my MD308587) as of 2013:
Mitsubishiparts.net: $446.89 + $64.80 shipping
JNZTuning.com: $481.30 + $48.13 shipping
