I bought a 95 talon TSi with bent valves.. the owner claims that the Tbelt slipped off because of the tensioner.. do i just need to replace the hydraulic auto tensioner part?

No, you need to replace the timing belt, idler pulley would be suggested, the tensioner pulley, the valves at least, but if you are doing that I would do the guides, lifters, and valve stem seals as well. Either that or get a new head.

Like he said ^ Probably all your valves are bent and need replaced - they might look straight but they arent, timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and a balance shaft belt if you still have them. The previous owner blames it on the tensioner, its his fault he didnt keep up with the maintenance on the vehicle in the first place. When I bought my talon the timing belt kit is the first thing I bought. Get one from Welcome To Extreme PSI dont buy anything thats not a mitsu OEM part.

Thanks guys, yeah i got another head from a local guy, but when i went into the parts store and asked they said there is tons of stuff for the timing belt, they were confused what to order when i said tensioner
