Vancouver,
Sup guys, Ive looked around for the fix for this problem seems, the ever popular ingalls front camber kit doesnt give anyone else problems but myself. Well I installed the kit and got the alignment done, my car tracks straight now very nice , good quality kit but there is a flaw with my suspension now. Well after the alignment was done i picked up my car and the guy who did the alignment told me that my control arm is touching my wheel well now, but the alignment itself is fine. So i throw it up on the hoist at work, he is right the very tip of my control arm is hitting my inner tire well ( I KNEW I HEARD A CLUNKING ) .. so im thinking eighther let the control arm wear out the tire well OR its hammer time. Any thoughts, seems my ride hight is too low, but its infact only a couple inches lower at most, h&r springs (lowering springs not adjustable ) .. My shocks are adjustible for firmness ( illuminas ) i cranked to max firm still control arm is reaching the well. I can't think of anything besides a hammer or finding adjustable/stock springs, which i dont realy wanna do and can't afford.

PS its more of a scrape then a solid straight on hit to the well

thanx for any replies

How low of a drop are we talking here. The geometry for upper control arm movement is large. I would think the car is 2.75- 3.00 inches below stock height. Which is major. You could perform " hammer time" but that will only be a temp fix. If you bend the tip of the control arm you risk damaging the installed pressed in ball joint seat and if you hammer the inner fender well you will still have problems with over travel of the lower control arm and axle angles and everything that pivots.. If you want to eliminate the problem your only choice is to bring the front back up some or get coilovers. goodluck

well the care came with Tein coilovers but its not really slammed.... its still got about a inch and a half of wheel gap :/

I cant remember but the Ingalls are a bolt in. As in slide plate top and bottom with like a 7/8' nut on top, thats how the SPC ones are, if thats the case you can bend the tip of the control arm, or better yet grinder, without hurting the structural integrity of the arm, if its a press in just grind and forget, but no more than like a 1/4' or less if possible. Hope that helps.

hrmm i see... i was out of town over the weekend and figured if i would see if any one responded. so im gunna try see if get it to work

ok well i am looking for my hammer then ima get started!

If I could remember correctly I hammered the lip then cut it off.

yea i ended up just grinding about 1/4" off the end of the control arm. it broke the weld that was on these control arms sooo tomorrow im going to have some one at work throw a new weld down and reinforce these ones

Hey guys i didnt want to start a new thread so im going to ask my question here... I just recieved my Ingalls front and rear camber kit to correct the serious negative camber caused by my 3" drop but when I lifted my car and looked at the upper control arm to remove the stock ball joint I wasn't able to due to the fact that the stock ball joint is built into the control arm. I read in my Haynes repair manual and it says that you can't replace just the ball joint alone you have to replace the whole control arm. So now I an wondering why Ingalls sold me something that doesn't even fit on my car.... PLEASE HELP! Thanks
