There is a guy selling a used 6 bolt 4G63T engine, the engine is out of the car. I asked him about how many miles and he said less than 120K. He is asking for $300, is this a good deal? I currently running on a 7 bolt and i'm thinking about getting a 6 bolt, building it and dropping it down....Is going to be my project basically. The engine comes with a brand new head, No tranny or flywheel and he also said it needs a belt...No exhaust manifold but i dont care since i have 2 2G's exhaust manifolds right now. Anything i should look for since the engine is out? Thanks!

I did the same thing, i bought my 91 talon engine for $300 to drop in my 98 gst and changed..headgasket,water pump, oil pump , all the belts ,cleaned it(degreesed) new rediator thermometer, changed all the hoses there about to break since its an old engine ,spark plugs/ wires, make sure it comes with a CAS (cam angle sensor).

thats my advice , heres some other places i checked b4 i bought it and droped it in

its a 6 bolt not bad and its going to be your project so no matter the condition you going to start from scratch

i agree with 4g63knock... i had no idea what i was getting into until i brought the engine home and started taking it apart. i got this engine maybe 6 months ago and i just started her up 2 weeks ago ( i did have classes and work ) but its fun and in the end it pays off

thats pretty much up to you its going to cost you some... did you see the engine run before you bought it?

yea go for it . the only reason i didnt do that is because the stock internals can hold more boost then my 7bolt, so i didnt feel the need to rebuild
