i have an automatic gst 1997 stock no mods ( only airfilter and good spark plugs) i was driving around 70 kmh and i nailed it , then suddenly the car was not accelerating like before, the RPM was going very high but the car is not fast as before ( usualy my RPM uses to cut off after 6.5 K ) but after that incident the car now reach 8-9 K ( without limitation)

my car is not fast anymore eventhough i can hear the turbo boosting and the sound of the BOV loud and clear but there is no acceleration like before

what is wrong with my car ( no limitaiton now and no acceleration and pick up like :notgood:before)

what could be the problem????

thanks for the help

sounds like to me a bad tranny. my car would do that, but its because my clutch was slipping. i see tho that yours an auto. our cars rev limiter is like 8400rpm. dont rev that high or your going to be a victim of CRANKWALK. stop over reving. it also sounds like a huge boost leak. check all your connections. do a boost leak test. make sure a rock didnt put a hole in your intercooler or something dumb like that. good luck

Over revving has little to do with crankwalk.
The problem with CW is usually from cold starting with the clutch pushed in.
Most of the people with CW have a stronger clutch than stock and/or dont have the clutch switch disabled.
You should disable your safety feature of having your clutch all the way down to the floor before it lets you start your car.
Being automatic, you should never get CW unless you overheat your torque converter and it balloons out and puts constant overpressure on the thrust bearing.

Every time crankwalk is mentioned, it turns into a debate. Stick to the post...

Check to make sure you didn't pop a hose off post turbo. You'll be able to spool up, but you won't build any boost, hence, the shower acceleration.

Is it reaching 8-9k in neutral, or while you have it in gear? Are you moving fast enough to be hitting 8-9k?

yea that is one of the first things i did when i got my GSX. i pulled that plug right out

yes it reches 8-9 k while i was driving and then 8 while i was on neutral ( but yesterday it went back to normal and it's cutting on 6.5 K like before ??????? but the car is still loosing power ?

my RPM does not move if it's on 1 k it stays there so i dont think there is a boost leak ? what do you think?

how can i do a quick boost leak without without me going to the garage where i am sure that also they will not know :(

the mechanics here will never understand what is a boost leak :( please try to help without the complicated way of buyinh tools and building it and then test ## car , there is no quick way just to make sure at least my car is ok ?????

thanks for the help and ## suggestions ( and please answer me on what is happening with my limiter?) i forgot to mention to you on that day the weather was extemely HOT

thanks

65 is not normal i can rev to 7500 on my car. as far as the leak you can buy a air tank that holds compressed air and then when your on the road and have a problem hook up your air tank to the boost leak tester and you should be able to find the leak with not problens if that is the cause of the problem.. maybe you should take it to a transmission place and have them look at it.

the car broke down and it's not starting anymore :( i took it to the mechanic and guess what , the balance shift Belt, is broken :( we have changed it but the car still does not want to start , the two sensors of the crank and the pistons are broken also , and here there are no spare parts :( i have to wait for 20 days , i made an order and it cost a fortune :(
each sensor is 300 us dollars .damn , timing belt and balance belt is 175 usd + the labor work , i dont even want to ask about the labor work now :(

can you please let me know if this sensors are supposed to breakdown if i loose my balance shift belt ( the one next to the timing belt inside the engine)

thank you for the help
