No, my pop up light switch isnt on. My driver side headlights works as it should. My passenger one will go up electronically but wont go down, I can crank it down manually and let hit the lights and it pops back up. If it was the motor I thought it would be shot completely. WTF?

It's the shitty gears. They do that all the time I'm not sure if the problem is in the gear or the motor, they are prone to it though

does the button on the dash work? mine sticks in a bit and i just pull it out and the lights go down.

if the button isnt plugged in it will not close the circut and drop the lights.

These cars look good with the lights down and hidious with the lights up.

the button works. I wd40'd it up like you guys said, but no luck. It must be messed up permanently, Ill have to get a replacement. Its just retarded it will work one way but not the other.

Take a pair of pliers and pull on the button carefully to get it to come out. also make sure its plugged in on the back side. the next thing i would do is check the fuses.

Check the wiring going to the head light motor. If it goes up one way and not the other it may have a bad connection (split wire) which does not let the motor reverse the current making it go down. If it cranks both ways then the gears are not broken.

Im not sure what plug you are talking about, I am familiar with the one plug for the motor that is out in plain site, but Ill check it out, Ive triple checked all the fuses.

Im gonna have to check that out, because it cranks up and down, I crank it down almost everyday instead of driving around with them both up. Ill try to find out what wire would be responsible in the meantime. Thanks.

When I bought my 90 talon the owner was complaining that the lights wouldn't go down. But I guess after he washed his car they decided to go down. So maybe it was dirty?

I'll have to check my wiring tomorrow because I am having a drain in the battery and that light might be it.

The button on the dash.... is the one im talking about.

Have you pressed the headlight button on the left side of the instrument panel, next to the steering wheel? It keeps the headlights up, such as when you park outside in the snow and don't want them frozen closed. Press it again and see if they drop.

I just got a new button from the junk yard last week to see if it was the button, and that is the first sentence in my original post. When I hit the button thy will both pop up (this is of course after I crank down the stubborn one) but when I hit the button again or turn my lights off the passenger side stays up. I crank it down and hit the lights and it pops up, wont go down. I have sprayed the shit out of it with PB blaster and WD40, checked all wires and at a last attempt I beat the living shit out of it with a rubber mallet. Im going to have to just replace the damn motor but IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE. If for some reason it works Ill fill you guys all in, this is ridiculous.
