ok i have a wooden box that i am about to seal for the use of my battery. anyways i also have gauged wire for my amp that i have for my system and was thinking about puttnig the battery in the wooden box in my trunk and to connect the positive terminal (engine bay) to the gauged wire to my amp, and then running it all the way back and then using the battery ground and connect it to underneath the back seat and then connecting the negative terminal (from engine bay) to the chassis. what do you think? will this be an abundant enough amount of electricity going through the body of the car for everything to work properly? and does the wood box sound stupid? just wondering. i want to do this the cheapest way.

Yeah.. That sounds reasonable.. I see stereo guy's put batteries in wood boxes all the time.. But at the track, they may require a vented, metal box, secured very well to the chassis, and have an emergency shut off on the outside.. But this is only if you are going to a very strict track..

And if you run the negative on the battery to a good ground anywhere one the car (make sure you scratch all the paint off so you get a good connection), then you can ground everything in the engine compartment to the car, because it will eventually go back the battery anyway..

cool now i need to know. i run the stock talon battery wires that go to the terminals of the battery. now the speaker wire i have is like 4 gauge wire hooked to a 100 amp fuse and i looked at all the other fuses that are connected to the terminal itself and none of them (even all together) register over 100 amps (its like 90) so anyways would i be safe running a 4 gauge wire? and also about the ground idea i had, what do you think about that?

When i relocated my batterie to the trunk i connected all the positive wires into one in the engine bay, then ran a power wire to the trunk and grounded the batterie in the trunk as well. If you do that it should be fine and then run your amp strait to the batterie.

Thats alot of power.. haha.. You should be good.. Just make sure you fuse everything, and make your connections very secure.. DO NOT half ass something like this, your car's life, and maybe your's (if the battery blows up.. it happens) may hang in the balance...

thats the best way to get the power to the back.. again, just make sure that the connection of all the wires under the hood, to the one that runs to the back is very secure..:)

yes sir just finished up on the layout of my wire to the trunk, i got it through the firewall and everything and its all matched up and good to go. i appreciate it and just to double check. 4 gauge wire is ok to use correct? if its not four i guess its 8 guage. its the same diameter as the wires that connect to the battery. anyways yup abbout to connect it. thanks again.
