yeah i know what you mean. But i am only 17 years old and i want a car with some mods on it. Also does that price seem to high?

I agree with silverbullet. It is best to find an unmolested car to start with. Some of the first things you want to is basic maintanence things. You have to remember you are buying a vehicle that is 17 years old. It's best to get a good solid and reliable car under your feet before you start putting some power to her. Also if you buy a modded car then it is more likely that the car has been beaten on. The final reason to watch buying a modded car is the dumba** factor. There are alot of people out there that aren't as knowledgable about modding car as the fine people at this site. When I bought my car I thought I was getting a deal not having to buy alot of stuff to get started. What I found was alot of things had been severely rigged and I have been fighting problems ever since. My car has been sitting for the last year becuase of a poorly installed wastegate and an over boosting problem that took out my headgasket. I have gotten so sick of fighting these problems. The car is currently completely torn down to fix every last detail before I run her again.

Bottom line if you are going to buy a modded car make sure to look it over carefully. Make sure all the modifications were done right. Don't be blinded by the parts and look at the whole picture.

I would offer him less. I got mine with some goodies too. In my avatar pic, you can't really tell. But I got "free slicks" aka bald. I mean I had NO thread on the rears

I drove it like that even through winter here in the chi LOL. I was brave one but I managed myself.

I got more shit wrong on my talon than I can count. These cars seem too delicate but every time its on the jackstands, another reason to upgrade something!

I know how you feel. Just like awdtalontsi1992, I bought mine with some mods thinking I could save myself the trouble. It ended up having an evo3 turbo with shaftplay and a greddy intercooler with duct tape for couplers.:notgood: Save yourself the headache. Learn from our mistakes.

It's not really a bad price for all the mods and the motor rebuild (Assuming it runs right). Just check the compression and turbo for shaft play. Ask for receipts. Make sure he put in a new timing belt and accessories with the rebuild. At the end of the ad, he says it needs to be tuned for performance. So, I'd be wary of that. It could be something else.

Personally, I'd get a stock one or one with slight mods like an exhaust and intake. You got to be carful when buying modded cars because a lot of times they aren't done right. I've learned the hard way in the past.

I would find out who rebuilt the motor and see if he has an engine spec sheet for it. I didn't see ARP studs listed. Also, you might want to invest in a better intercooler. Either a Supra sidemount or frontmount will work fine with the Big 16G turbo.

Thanks a lot guys! With those kind of intelligent responses i feel like i will be spending a lot of time on this site.
