My friend said there is a small evo III gt 16g and a big evo III gt 16g turbo... Is this true?

When you read "GT" in the title of a 16g, it's a China turbo. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries makes a small 16g, big 16g, and Evo III 16g. From what I've seen over the years, there is only one 16g GT, which is made by a Chinese manufacturer. Read and learn.:toobad:

Many people have had issues with the GT knock-off version failing. The bearings and seals in them are not made to Mitsubishi's specs, and are prone to failure at an unknown (but uncharacteristically high) rate. If you're looking at the GT turbo as an option, you'd best be aware of the possibility that you're wasting your money.
