I have oil coming out from around my oil filler cap. Thought maybe I need to replace the oil filler cap, so i did and well I still have oil coming out from around. My dad said to ask you guys and gals if there is anyway to fix this, or what may be causing that. He said he thinks it is excess blow by. I need some help.. Please let me know something asap.

Do what i did when i had my 91 tsi awd. Get a complete valve cover gasket set and replace it for once and for all. Also if your oil cap and oil cap seal is good then replace your pcv valve asap. Get the oem piece, they dont get clogged up easily like auto parts pieces. Most people often overlook the pcv valve. Also rememeber to recirculate the hoses correctly from the vc to the intake and the other side of the vc to the intake mani. hope this helped you and let me know how it turns out.

It is blowing oil onto the top of the valve cover and more less puddeling up onto the valve cover, will what you are talking about help this?

Yes, a new pcv valve will help ALOT in reducing the excess oil blow by pressure being created . also check to see if your valve cover is cracked, which it most likely is.

the pcv valve is a vent for the crankcase. really, to check to see if that will help, just get another PCV valve like homeboy said. they are cheap. You may want to do a compression test and a leak down test, because you may be getting alot of crankcase pressure because of piston ring blow-by. maybe from cracked rings or pistons. Its hard to say without doing a leakdown or compression test.

Man... you know what leaks? 15 year old oil cap gaskets... you know what doesn't leak? One more "new gasket" from cheap ass auto parts store oil caps stacked on top of the shitty old one in your oem oil cap. I was having the same issue until I stacked two gaskets.... oh and good luck getting your oil cap off to :)... it fits TIGHT once you do this. Also, the answe4r is NOT to buy a new oil cap from the auto parts dealer... the oem one is MUCH more strong than those pos auto parts store ones. The metal tabs that hold the oil cap to the valve cover on aftermarket ones are crap IMO... but t he mitsu one has thick metal tabs that are bent down to laterally brace the thing from bending from the heat/pressure of the motor like t he aftermarket ones do.

I hope this helps. My VC stays clean all the time now :).
