Right know i have a 7bolt in my car thats getting old, and frankly i just dont trust it.

I want to build a 6 bolt and swap it into my 2g within the next 6 months.

What is the best way to go about this. Ive read alot of posts on engine building but i cant find any explaining the most cost effective engine build. Take in consideration that my goals are to sollidly support around 420-450 whp on 92 octane.

Should i buy a used longblock and have it build? Kar king cheap 6bolt longblock? 6 bolt short block and use my 2g head? What would i need to have done to the my head for my goals? What are the basics that need to be done to the block? Best Pistons and Rods for the price?

Im just trying to find the most cost efficient route for my goals. I would love to do this build only spending 3k including the swap.

Thanks guys.

MaPerformance or JNZ shortblocks seem like the way to go. 2099.99 for a 6 bolt shortblock and then you can just get you 2g head ported for well under 3000 bucks. The price above is for their stroker mind you. I believe the 2.0l are about 1999.99.

I was looking at those blocks, they seem nice. So you think it would be similar in prices just to buy the block from somewhere and not get a used block built your self?
