Saskatoon,
well today i was driving, and my car was running fine, then i went threw a large dusty pot hole, and then my car started to run really funny, it is vibrating really bad, and takes awhile to accelerate, like when starting from zero it has to be reved up quite high or else it feels like its going to stall. I looked under the hood, and saw that it looks like the wire that connects to the alternator is disconnect, and im not sure what that wire is for, is this what has caused this? also i have a 3" exhaust, and it had a pretty good dent in it coming off the down-pipe, and i noticed a new dent on it, any chance this is helping in this condition.

any incite is appreaciated, i need my car back on the streets ASAP!
thanks

No, if it is a vacuum leak try taking a can of ether or starting fluid and spraying it in a light mist around your engine bay at idle, if it idles higher at any time look in that area for cracked broken or disconnected hoses. Unless the dent in your exhaust is huge it shouldn't cause you any problems, at idle you probably only require about 10% of the flow you have available. Be careful not to let it spray on your air filter, it wont hurt it unless you spray a bunch but it will give you a false positive and could potentially give you blowback which could start your car on fire.

We need to know exactly what wire on the alternator is no longer connected. The dents in your exhaust pipe woln't cause this unless you completely broke it somewhere near a flange.

i seem to have fixed the main problem, a spark plug wire came unplugged, and i never noticed it. but i still dont know where this cord goes. After looking closer at this wire im not sure if it is coming off the alternator or not, theres that wire harness that plugs into the side of it, then the wires go down, and there taped together then this wire i suspect of coming loose comes out of that tape pile, and has nothing in one end of it
