The past 3 months I have been building my talon back up after a stupid crash that deployed my air bags and cracked my block. frame was fine and I love my dsm so I fixed it up and built a motor for it. I want to know, is there a reset switch I need to set with the new air bags in or do I need a new air bag computer or what do I need to do? I tryed to search and couldnt find anything. Thanks alot!!

Air Bag System Arming and Disarming

Place ignition switch in lock position.
Disconnect and tape battery ground cable connector.
Wait at least 1 minute after disconnecting battery ground cable before doing any further work on vehicle. The SRS system is designed to retain enough voltage to deploy airbag for a short time even after battery has been disconnected.
After repairs are complete, reconnect battery ground cable.
From passenger side of vehicle, turn ignition switch to On position.
SRS warning light should illuminate for 6 to 8 seconds, then remain off for at least 45 seconds to indicate if SRS system is functioning correctly.
If SRS indicator does not perform as described refer to Air Bag Systems

1g DSM's (89-94) did not come with air bags.

here is the legal way, and you are supposed to be ASE certified to do it (just thought I would throw that in there)

Replace SIR- crash sensors, wire harness, SIR Module, air bags

I used to have a set of all these, will have to see if I got them boxed up someplace from a car we stripped for parts.. oh and I am ASE certified...

you need to replace your crash sensors and the srs ecu. some cars you can reset the srs ecu instead of changing it, but you will have to find some one to do that.every time an air bag goes off the ecu goes with it. good luck
