I have a friend who purchased a timing belt, he was told by the vendor, that it was the one for him. We installed it, and we replaced the hydraulic tensioner, both pulleys, the head was completly rebuilt, but the car works for 2 days and thats it, after those 2 days, the timing belt jumps teeth and bends a few valves. I do know, that timing belts gets a little loose after a while being parked, but not to the point to jump timing and bend valves. We had to take down the head 3 times already, just to replace a couple valves. Do any of you know, how many teeth does a 1g timing belt has? we are going to count them, to see if we got the right belt. The strange part here, is that the car works for 2 days, and the belt seems pretty tight, but after 2 days, apparently it gets loose and jumps timing. Thanks for the help.
